Devlog 05: A Kicktastic second week of production
Hello again Footie Fanatics!
A tough break with tons of school assignments, but we carry on carrying on.
We're excited to share our progress once more and hope you enjoy our updates!
Programming
Once again we start with the programming side of things.
Kicktastic!
The main update this week is the return of the jedi... i mean kick!
A fresh interface to be used for anything kickable with an easier implementation for future objects.
The ball can again be kicked high, and low, and the first version of the wall collisions are back in as well compared to last week.
This puts the core gameplay back on the menu so we can start working on reimplementing the abilities, and perhaps player kicking.
Indicatortastic!
Another addition brought back is the indicators under the player and the ball.
The main purpose of these is to make it easier for players to get a feel how deep the ball is in the field, while still being able to have freedom to take their skills into the sky. The hardest part about this was the decal for the ball, as it rotates frequently and the decal has to point downwards.
Cameramazing!
The last addition on the programming side is a moving camera!!! We can finally see the whole map :D And for ppl that want to know, we just calculate the middle point between all the players, ofc we need to keep in mind is that it doesn't show the outside of the map.
Anyhow there are still a few kinks to be worked out such as:
- Multiplayer controller assignment breaks after 3 resets.
But with working on these set in our mind, and being motivated to continue the work on the abilities, we hope we can deliver another fun update next week!

During easter break we rested and we're ready for new challenges aight! However, that doesn't mean we did nothing.
The penguin has now abilities meshes.
We started making an alien so penguin has a sworn enemy now! (or a friend, we won't judge) Still work in progress, but look how cute he is :>
Collision meshes were added everywhere we could so now the game actually have working walls :>
We added decal for players and the ball for better visibility.
Next week prepare for a big blast of new art stuff :3
